Tag-ie Trader
Tag-ie Trader has been designed with users in mind who need a quick and easy way to record a large number of animals and then assign their tag numbers to a pen, holding or area number. You can also record the vendor's name and the weight, and type of animals being sold against the pen number.
The Tag-ie Trader Reader will prompt you to enter a pen number and any other information you require using the keypad, then all subsequent tags read will be recorded to this pen number until you press the OK button.
The handset or Stick Reader can be set to FDX-B/HDX mode so that it automatically reads either type of tag.
It doesn't matter if you read the same animal twice by mistake, the animal will only be counted once. When you have finished with that pen, press the OK button and the handset will prompt you to add the next pen number. If you come across an animal with a non-electronic tag, you can easily enter the animal tag number manually into the Reader so that this animal is included.
Data from the handset can be transferred by Bluetooth 2.1 (WiFi 802.11 b/g available as an option) or USB either to the Tag-ie Trader software (included within price) or an existing database using csv format. In the case of Auctioneers, this database may for instance contain Vendors details, so a record can be created quickly of the tag numbers of the animals being offered for sale from that particular vendor that day. You can produce a simple spreadsheet showing the time and date, pen number, the tag numbers of the animals in the pen and total number of animals read.

Tag-ie products conform to ISO11784/5, and are water and drop resistant. Very importantly, the surface of the readers are very easy to clean or to sterilise when moving between MV and non-MV accredited pens.
Tag-ie Reader & Wand
Tag-ie Readers can be easily equipped with a connector for plugging in a wand, which extends the reach range to approximately 1.5m.
The carbon fibre wand is literally plug and play and can be plugged in and used immediately whatever mode the Reader is in. The Reader does not need to be reset or turned off, so you can read tags from a group of animals at the far side of a pen using the wand, and then unplug it and read the ones close to you using the handset if for instance you are in a confined space.
Tag-ie Stick Reader
A Tag-ie pistol grip Stick Reader, with a 'Read' button built into the handle, is also available which can be supplied with either Tag-ie Trader or Tag-ie Flock Management software. It is unusual in the fact that it is a stick reader which includes a keypad providing access to all standard Tag-ie features, as well as an LED to indicate a tag being read, and an LED to indicate when a tag has already been read, which are easily visible on the back of the reader when using it in a pen environment.
When using the Trader software, the Tag-ie Stick Reader contains a database editing program to allow for adding and deleting animal numbers from pens and moving animals between pens without relying on a radio link to a central database. It can store approximately 10,000 tags including pen numbers, animal types and other relevant information.
The Tag-ie stick reader is rechargeable and connects to a PC via Bluetooth 2.1 (WiFi 802.11 b/g available as an option).
Several readers can be used simultaneously around the market, all uploading data via Bluetooth (WiFi 802.11 b/g available as an option) to the same PC.
The Tag-ie Stick Readers and Wands are manufactured out of carbon fibre and are therefore light yet durable. They easily withstand the 1m drop test and are water resistant.
In order to discourage theft, our readers can be set up so that unless they are enabled with a master tag unique to their owner, they will not operate.
These products conform to ISO11784 and ISO11785, ISO24631-6 (draft) communications standard, CE Meets EN50082-1 and EN50022, and comply with EC 21/2004.
