Tag-ie
Print & Go!
A hand-held
portable printer is available to plug in to your Tag-ie Reader to enable
you to print out a list of animals literally in the field.
This is a
useful option if you keep animals away from the farm and want to read
their tags before moving them to a new holding or sending them to market
or abattoir and need a list of their tag numbers for your movement
documents without having to go back to the farm to print them out from
your PC.
You simply
read the ear tag numbers using your Tag-ie Reader, plug
in the portable printer and follow a few simple steps and you can
instantly print out a list of animal tags read, also showing time and
date and your holding number. Different groups of animals can all
be stored in the reader under different lot numbers, so each lot number
can be printed out separately.
The animal
tags will be stored in your reader until you delete them, and you can
upload them to your PC when you go back to the farm.
This may
be a useful option if you don't want to use a PC at all, and only want
to read a number of animal tags and produce a list of tags read for your
movement documents and records. You use the Tag-ie Reader to read
the tags, plug in the printer and go to the print option, enter the date
and your holding number when prompted, then print out a list of the tags
read. You can produce as many copies of the list as you like.
You then delete the list of tags from your Reader and you are ready to
go again.
The
portable printer comes with a cable which plugs straight in to your
Tag-ie handset.
